Wyoming, and the Harleys Therein.

Sheridon, Wyoming. Motel.
641.8 mi. travelled since yesterday!

(Boise to Sheridon)
Drove nearly all night last night. After high-tailing it out of Yellowstone, I drove the hour or so to Cody. There was a rodeo and some other stuff going on there, so it was near impossible to find a room that late at night. We had dinner in Cody, and decided to push on to Sheridon.

I drove from Cody to Greybull with Anna as copilot, whereupon we switched to Dad and Alexa, who took the rest of the way. Right now, we're at a gas station, whose minimart is entitled, "Kum&Go." I don't want to think about it.

Leaving Sheridon at 11:06 am, on I-90.

Critter Watch/Stuff

K: discovered that we can see cars coming ages away.
K: almost hit a fat bunny.
K: saw mysterious green light outside on driver's side, that little light on dash that says the headlights are on is very creepy

D: Almost hit very very fat bunny
D: Almost hit Doe and foles, they were very cute
D: Saw two elk
D: Saw Melk
D: Another melk
D: Big moose, he was lurking
D: 'Nother melk
D: Got to Sheridon.

[On this page are a number of doodles in the margins, including three rabbits and a melk. To be scanned once I whoop some print-server ass. Our network sucks, you see.]

Jill/Kirby and whatnot have told me to put a list of all the strange places we've visited. So here goes...

1. Puckerbrush, Nevada. Population: 28
2. Wapiti, Wyoming.
3. Crazy Woman Creek Road, Wyoming.
4. Dead Horse Creek Road, Wyoming.
5. "Kum & Go" Gas Stop, Wyoming.
6. Gran Tetons- Giant BOOBS

7. St. Luis-du-Ha!-Ha!, Quebec
8. Chocolate Lake, Halifax, Nova Scotia

[In the margin is written:]
Sidenote:
Wyoming contains America's acne.
SanFran is the clit.
Milpitas is the asshole.
Santa Clara Valley is "The Valley of Heart's Delight."

[There were a number of other names which were particularly amusing, but did not get recorded on this page. If, in retracing out journey on the maps, I find any that we missed, I will come back and record them here, rather than make a new entry.]

8:41 pm 337 mile so far Today. We got to see Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument. It was worth it all-- the biker traffic everywhere and confusing small SCENIC highways, dicey weather with lightning. I want to come back and spend a whole week in this area to see everything properly.

Quote of the Day: "I've had [three] accidents and only one of them killed me."
(A biker guy David was talking to about when your kids should start learning to ride a motorcycle.)

[Quote of the Day became, sometime in the journey, a regular feature of the travel log, and has been continuing as something of an inside joke ever since. Some of the quotes we recorded because they were wise and worldly, others because they were just hilariously weird.]
